I've started running again with a running group and needless to say. I am EXTREMELY out of shape. After our last session, I don't think that I can walk to the mailbox, but I'm going to keep at it.
I am a big gadget person and at this point i'll take anything to make my life easier and that will encourage me to keep working out. Here are some things that I thought you might enjoy:
I LOVE Athleta fitness gear. It's a division of Gap and their workout and yoga clothes are always so functional and fashionable. Everything that I've come across is moisture wicking. I heart it. The above has reflective designs for those nighttime runs and walks. And it looks great in the daytime as well. You can even throw it on if you're just walking the dog at night.
The Withings Wifi scale will send your weight, fat mass, and lean mass to your computer or the Withings app for iphone. You don't have to worry about keeping track of your progress, this scales does it for you. It's great for the entire family. It will keep track of up to 8 users.
The Phillips Directlife Activity Monitor loads 12 week activity plans that show you how normal, everyday activities contribute to your weight loss goals. Walk to the mailbox? It counts it. Go to the grocery store? It counts that too. When you receive your monitor, it takes a week to assess your everyday activities. Once that's done, hook it up to your computer and a 12 week fitness plan will be developed for you. It's that easy.
Polar has the best Heart Rate Monitors that i've seen. They have one for every activity. They are stylish and functional.
This is the Valslide. These little doohickeys provide resistance for your core, arms, and legs. I know what you're saying, "What do you do with them?" They have a video on their website that show you how they work. The exercises are easy to understand, but provide maximum resistance. You can put them under your hands and glide up, or put them under your feet and bend down in a runners stance like the NFL players do. They work on carpet, hardwoods, and linoleum. They are great for people who travel often, but don't want to miss their workout. Trust me, you thank me later!
I cant wait to try out all of these tools. I haven't tried out the Phillips Directlife Activity Monitor yet, but I see it going on my list very soon. As with anything, shop around for the best deal. New exercise products come out everyday. Why pay full price?
Have you tried any of these? Got any cool gadgets that you'd like to hip us to?
