I love fashion as much as the next girl but since I am on the Dave Ramsey plan I have severely limited my shopping expenses. Not that I was out buying designer gear every week, but, nonetheless, I have cut even my few trips to the Nordstrom Savvy denim section. Instead, I have two pair of expensive "luxury" jeans that I save for date nights. As we all know, the quest for finding jeans that fit well and don't cost as much as your cell phone and energy bill, is eternal.
To my awe, I have rediscovered the Levi store. The Americana look has never really been on the top of my list of looks. Oddly enough, I have always preferred that look for my husband. Modern Americana works for him, so every Levi store visit has been one-sided. This Christmas I walked in and bought my husband a couple of pair of jeans, a sweater, and a cap. The fact that I got everything at half off was a definite plus. For the first time in a very long time, I took a few minutes to see what the women's side of the store had to offer. A lot, apparently. They have a new selection of custom fits - Slight Curve, Demi Curve, and Bold Curve. I took a few minutes to try on some styles. To be quite honest, they fit better than the last pair of "luxury" jeans I tried, which, by the way, were cut so straight in the thigh no woman who eats 3 square meals could fit into. (I am talking to you, Paige Denim). At half off, I spent a cool $30 on my Levi jeans. Needless to say, I have a new appreciation for Americana. I know I sound like a commercial right now but I could not be more sincere. I am not saying not to indulge in a couple pair of "luxury" jeans for nights out but for day to day there is no need to spend that kind of money. Go get your Levi jeans and with the money you save you can buy some hot platform pumps.
