Alright, it's time to put it in the vault. Yes, I'm going to put my hair up for a little bit and let it rest. Also because I have this hankering need to change my style every once in a while. The only thing is, what protective style shall I choose? Here's what I don't want:
- I've shunned away from braids because the hair at my temples is JUST starting to grow back after years of wear and tear from micros and Senegalese, etc.
- I don't want to sit in the chair for 12-16 hours. My patience is getting a little low.
- I don't want to have to sit through an all day Law & Order Marathon to take them out.
- I DO want something clean and professional.
So in my quest to find what I want, I have not been all that productive at work this morning. I've decided that i'd go to a natural stylist as opposed to a "braid shop" if I get any form of braids. That way, my hair wont get janked out. 3 pounds of braiding hair on 2 strands of your own hair is not a good idea. Your hair WILL be coming out. Ok, I exaggerated about the 3 pounds, but you get my drift.
I've considered your standard weave. I've got some remi hair in the closet that is just waiting to be re-used. Here are some other styles that have intrigued me.
I LOVE kinky twists. Plus i've never had them. They're definitely a front runner.
I love these loose twist. I'm sure that they wont last as long, but I think they're pretty. They look carefree

I think that this is beautiful and I don't think that I'd have to sit that long.
What do you think? Have protective styles worked for you?
