Hello Blushing Ladies
I apologize. We've have been a little slack this week. You'd think that with two people and a bevy of guest writers, we would be able to stay on point right? Wrong. We're gearing back up though.
Last night I went to see Prince in Raleigh, NC. The concert was BEYOND phenomenal. Chaka Khan opened for him and she was definitely on point. She looked great. She's always had great skin and a beautiful smile. Her wig was big and so was her voice. It was high and didn't crack once. The woman is bad. Her back up singers made me wish that I was on stage with them. I mean, I always sing, but I can't sing. She had on a pair of gold sequined knee high boots that I wanted to snatch right off of her feet. She did her patented two step, but she also dropped it a few times. Hell, at this age, I can only drop it once or twice. I'm not sure that i'd get up. Did I say that the woman is bad?
Now on to Prince. Whew. When my friend went to see Janet earlier this week, she posted "This b*tch is bad!" I'ma tell you what. I'd have to give the same moniker to Prince. HE ROCKED IT! I mean WOW. There were still a ton of songs that he didn't perform because he just has too many. He worked the entire stage and sounded just as smooth as his CD's.
Before the concert, I said, "He'd better be humpin the floor or grindin on something." I wanted the full Prince experience. He didn't hump the floor. And he didn't exactly grind on anything, but he worked that stage and that gee-tar.
One of the things that I like about Prince is that he's not only a singer, he's a musician. So he rocked with his band for a good part of the show. He can still dance and get down with the best of them. He pulled a few fans onto the stage to dance while he played "Play that funky music white boy." While he was on stage, a plus size diva rolled up to dance with him. She put it on him. I don't think that he was ready for that! He had to high five her at the end. There was also a guy who danced at the tip of the stage for the entire song. All of the fans followed prince over to the side of the stage while he sat at the piano. This guy stayed at the tip of the stage dancing with a woman that I hope that he knew. It was great to watch. At the end of the concert, the band left the stage. Of course they came back out again and performed KISS. After that, Prince and his band ran off of the stage and into the back. The lights came up. Everyone started leaving. Almost everyone was outside. We were almost at our door and we hear screaming. Ummm yeah, the man had come out again. He was on top of the piano. It was great because at this point, there was a small crowd and we were even closer than we were the first time.
The concert was so good, I really want to go to his next few concerts in the Carolinas. So now I can add Prince concert groupie to my list. Right next to BBD. So keep this in mind concert goers. If you happen to go to see prince. If the men havent come down out of the rafters after the lights come on. Just wait a while. Move closer and just wait. You may get an extra treat. I'ma tell you what. That Prince is a bad, shut yo mouf.....
I'm on a Purple High today!
By the way, of course I snuck my camera in. The battery was dead. No problem. My cell phone takes great pictures. Dead as well. I know. I suck. My friend got a few pictures though. I'll post them once she sends them over.
