It's that time again Blushing Ladies. Mercedes Benz Fashion Week has hit New York. This time at the Lincoln Center. I'm always a fan of the ready to wear fashions. I like the couture pieces, but in reality, when would I EVER wear them. And let's not mention the fact that I can't afford them. So I scoped out a few pieces that I loved.
Most reality shows now a days don't produce what they are advertising. Couples on the Bachelor and Bachelorette rarely get married. I doubt that Ocho Cinco is with the girl he picked on his show. Most of them are strictly for entertainment, which is why I rarely watch anymore. Give me what you're shooting for.
One of the rare exceptions is Project Runway. If you get your hustle on, I think that you can truly launch a line and/or make an impact in the fashion industry. This has been demonstrated by the fabulous and fierce Christian Siriano. He's showing at fashion week this year. Without being on Project Runway. And I don't think that I need to tell you that his line is great. Here are a few pieces that i LOVED.
I also loved the designs of Indonesian designer Farah Angsana. Farah started her career designing cocktail eveningwear for women. Her career grew rapidly so she decided to move into a sportswear and menswear line. While she received much acclaim for it, the pieces weren't moving off of the shelves. So lucky for us, she's back to the women. I love her choice of colors and you can see her ethnic influence in all of her pieces. I want to throw a party, just so that I can wear one! Here are a few that I loved!
What do you think of them? Enjoy your weekend ~Rae
