I came across this article in the New York Times about a photographer and author named Taryn Simon who has composed a 500-page book called "Contraband." It's a book that shows over 1,000 items that were seized from people or express mail at John F. Kennedy airport in New York.
Simon set up a makeshift studio at a terminal inside of the airport. She captured everything from a falcon corpse, to fake Louis Vuitton bags, to boxes of Viagra. It's crazy the things that people travel with and send through the mail. This might make an interesting coffee table book. Take a look at the article.
Here are just a few things that were found. There are many more on the New York Times website.
Animal Fat
Cow Penis
Falcon Corpse
Hydrocodone
Would you buy this book?
